Everybody has a different interpretation of what the Bible
says. Can't you make the Bible mean anything you want it to
mean?
Often, those who
raise this sort of objection are relying on what others
have said or written about the Bible, instead of what
they've actually read themselves. Most folks wouldn't pay
much attention to a review of a movie written by someone
who hadn't seen it, yet some reject the Bible without ever
finding out themselves exactly what it has to say. And we'd
argue that not "everybody" has a different interpretation
-- even people who refuse to believe what the Bible says
usually have little trouble understanding its message once
they've read it for themselves.
